Ever since I was a kid, I was fascinated by the mysteries of the natural world, and all the living beings inhabiting it. In order to understand the broad idea of "life", I was trying to learn biology from many different perspectives. This is where my love for evolution, ecology, entomology, microbiology and many other "-logies" came from. Similarly, I was also captivated by computers and the digital world, which can help us understand the real one.

I managed to combine almost all of these passions while writing my master's thesis, where I analyzed the diversity and distribution of symbiotic microbiota of nearly 1,500 Swedish scuttle flies (Phoridae). At the time, it was the largest such dataset in the world.

During my PhD studies, I will continue exploring the topic of analysis of microbiota in diverse insect communities and I would like to further develop my programming and data visualization skills.

Other than that, I am also interested in computer games, fantasy, and science popularization, and I was actively leading the Astrobiology Section of the Student Naturalist Society at the Jagiellonian University.
