Today, the results of the latest Polish National Science Centre competition for research grants were announced --- and Anna Michalik's project, "Bacillus subtilis as a new biocontrol agent for aphids", was recommended for funding!

In a partnership with dr Roma Durak at the University of Rzeszow, Anna will combine laboratory experiments and sequencing-based methods to understand mechanisms of defense against selected pathogens, especially the bacterium Bacillus subtilis, across several species of aphids. They expect that the planned project will contribute to the development of novel biological control approaches.
