Winter writing retreat
Part of our team - Catalina, Sandra, Junchen, Piotr, Michał - spent four days in Ochotnica Field Station during the winter writing retreat. It was a very fruitful time! All of them were working on data analysis, publications, proposal ideas, etc. We hope to see the results of this event soon. Rain of new publications in three, two, one...?!

Santa Claus is coming to... the Institute!
Shortly after Christmas, we meet together for a late Christmas party. We ate very delicious cakes, some of which were characteristic of the countries we come from, and share our Secret Santa gifts. It's really good to start this new year with those good vibes!

New NCN project for Ania!
Ania Michalik recently received funding for her new OPUS project "The patterns, processes, and drivers of insect microbiome variability". The research is funded by National Science Centre, Poland.

Lucky thirteen! Piotr's new publication about thirteen new species of Chilecicada
Together with collaborators, Piotr has just published a monograph in Zootaxa about thirteen new species of Chilean Cicadas. Congratulation!

Polish-French Hemiptera Days
Ania and Piotr were participants of the Polish-French Hemiptera Days 2021 in Paris. During the meeting, they gave a presentation entitled "The diversity and evolution of planthopper symbioses".
