Karol is a first year MSc student of Environmental Protection and Management. His interests mainly focus on evolution, cellular automata and microbiology, however during his bachelor studies he was working on the modern mass extintion. Right now, he's working on a project on patterns of diversity and microbiome distribution in the Phoridae flies family.
I'm a first-year student in the Master's program in Biology. I'm interested in the symbiosis of organisms and biodiversity as well as problems related to it. During my bachelor's degree, I prepared a comparative paper about the effects of bisphenols on the reproduction of organisms. Currently, I focus on testing the compatibility between methods of analyzing insect biodiversity and their microbiome in different research groups.
Emily is a visiting master's student from the United States currently enrolled in the Erasmus Mundus program for evolutionary biology (https://www.evobio.eu/ ). She will be completing her thesis as an external project through Ludwig Maximilians University with the Symbiosis Evolution group at Jagiellonian University. Her project centers around microbial abundance and distribution across diverse insects. Emily has broad interests in evolution, microbes, and disease ecology.
