Another successful fieldwork season in Greenland!

Another successful fieldwork season in Greenland!

This year, our Arctic fieldwork was the most extensive in the lab's history! Two teams from the lab have sampled insects in different portions of Greenland, and have just returned successfully, bringing in exciting stories and lots of material!

Piotr and Karol traveled to, and sampled insects for the first time, in South Greenland - near the town of Narsarsuaq. This subarctic region is the area that was initially colonized by the Vikings, and we saw many post-Viking ruins.

Anna and Michał travelled to our key site - Zackenberg Valley in North-East Greenland, stopping also in Constable Pynt along the way. This was the third consecutive year of sampling in the Valley.

South Greenland, in particular, turned out to be very productive - the insect diversity and abundance exceeded expectations! Lots of material to work with now - but next year, we'll be back for more!
