Recently, Michał's proposal for the re-visit of Greenland has been accepted for funding. That means that we will have an amazing opportunity to collect samples in the Zackenberg Research Station area (Greenland/Denmark) at an additional time point! That allows us to enlarge the collection of samples from this amazing part of the world.

The project aims to conduct a comprehensive insect sampling in Zackenberg Valley, to describe both insect species distribution and mechanisms shaping their microbiota. The sampling will be organized in July 2022. During that time, we will comprehensively sample arthropods, plants, and environmental samples in the most diverse habitats around the stations. In Poland, we will use custom amplicon sequencing-based techniques to accurately assign thousands of arthropod specimens to a species level and characterize their microbiomes. 

 

Congrats Michał! We hope that those several days in Greenland will lead us to great datasets!
